Spring

(March - April)

Spring is when drought stress begins to show as temperatures rise and rainfall becomes inconsistent. Lawns that are not receiving the recommended ¾ inch of water per cycle will begin to thin, decline, and struggle to green up. Homeowners should measure watering output using a tuna or cat food can and adjust irrigation zones as needed—especially before watering restrictions tighten. During this season, Mantis focuses on fertilization, pre‑emergent weed control, and spot‑treating weeds when temperatures allow. Mild mornings paired with warm days can create conditions where certain lawn diseases become active, so early identification is important even though treatment is not always recommended. Proper watering remains the most important factor in preventing drought‑related decline and reducing pest pressure as the year progresses.
